Women in Business Committee Thanks Senior Leadership

WIB senior headshots

Many thanks to our graduating seniors for their strong leadership through the transition to virtual and for celebrating the 15th annual conference with such success.  When asked to reflect on their four years on the hill, our Women in Business Conference committee seniors shared dorm memories, favorite Kimball meals and most memorable professors/courses.  Please join us in thanking and congratulating our graduating committee members! From left to right: Margaret Anderson ’21,  Grace Ingram ’21 & Nalani Ramos Ruiz ’21. We wish them all the successes and happiness as they transition to the next phase, and hope to welcome them back for future conferences!

  • Margaret Anderson ’21 enjoyed Professor Thomas’ Ethics and International Relations course, being part of the Women in Business committee and shares that “the Society of Saints Peter and Paul brought me some of my closest friends.”  She lived in Loyola 45, which she and her friends fondly refer to as The Palace, and will always remember weekend trips to Boston to go to SoulCycle and walk around the city.  You could often find her getting coffee at Cool Beans, where she enjoyed running into new and old connections, and will always remember freshman move-in day because she loved the “energy and the HC spirit as we welcome the newest Crusaders.” Reflecting on her years of Women in Business Planning, Margaret always liked the last minute preparation the night before the conference to make sure everything and everyone was set to go, finalizing registrations, etc. She shares that “Holy Cross shaped who I am in so many ways. It took me some time to get comfortable in my own skin and feel free to do the things that I really loved without the feeling of social pressure. I urge any current students to take advantage of junior year opportunities (D.C., NYC, or abroad) as these are the experiences that really pushed me and made me connect with HC people I otherwise never would have met.”
  •  Grace Ingram ‘21 shares that her favorite course was Social Ethics with Professor Guth and enjoyed her time living with the “best crew” in Alumni 023! You could often find her enjoying a stir fry at Kimball or sitting in the main reading room in Dinand and will always cherish working with Women in Business and Working for Worcester. Looking back on conference planning, she found “connecting with so many incredible alumnae to be the most rewarding”  and wants to remind current students that “your time on the Hill is short so take advantage of it and enjoy it while you can!” We congratulate Grace on securing a full-time position as an analyst at CBRE.
  • Nalani Ramos Ruiz ‘21 shares that Freedoms & Unfreedoms: Coloniality & Decoloniality in Puerto Rico with Professor Weiner was one of her favorite courses, along with being involved with Women in Business and Community Based Learning. You would often find her out in Worcester exploring the different restaurants and food spots, and of course enjoyed chicken/eggplant parm night at Kimball. Nalani lived in Loyola 265 where every Thursday she would host a hot cocoa night with a few close friends to play board games, watch movies, and just chat.  Her favorite Women in Business conference memory is when she was “meeting the Rangel sisters!! It was really cool seeing someone so successful and well known from my island (Puerto Rico) who went to HC.” Nalani will miss seeing everyone, friends, roommates, professors, Kimball staff, and everyone at the Ciocca Center.  We congratulate her on securing a full-time position at Raytheon in the contracts division.

Join us at the 16th annual Women in Business Conference this fall to be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021.   Registration is set to open in early September.
